What is MA Online Second Opinion Service? Online interview with a doctor
The MA Online Second Opinion service connects doctors and patients together online. It is useful for providing patients with acceptable alternative treatments that they would be satisfied with. It is also useful for patients who suffer from seven major lifestyle-related diseases (cancer, stroke, heart attack, hypertension, diabetes, liver cirrhosis, and chronic kidney disease), including three critical diseases like malignant cancer, acute myocardial infarction, and brain stroke, as well as for other diseases and infections. The service allows for doctors and patients to come together and discuss alternative treatment options. Patients should submit the necessary documents online in advance. After the interview, an interview report summarizing the contents of the meeting is created.
What is the difference between our service and a hospital outpatient second opinion?
Online interview at Home
As a hospital outpatient, you have to make an appointment at the medical institution and physically consult with a doctor. In contrast, our service allows you to stay at home comfortably and have an online consultation without the trouble of going out.
You can choose your doctor
One of the main features of the MA Online Second Opinion Service is that you can choose from a list of doctors who are experienced and active in their field of specialty. Many of the doctors affiliated with our service are either active clinicians at city hospitals or have experience as professors at medical schools. With years of medical experience, the doctors are carefully selected and extensively certified to provide you with the highest level of hospitality and reliability.
Online Interview Contents

On the day of the online interview, the specialist will give their opinion based on the documents and the content of the interview.

No actionable diagnosis (examination or treatment) will be provided.

The interview duration typically lasts 30 to 60 minutes

After the interview, we will prepare a report summarizing the contents of the interview.
We will not be able to accept an interview in the case of the following:
- If the content of the consultation is outside the area of our expertise
- If you are unable to provide us a letter of referral, documentation, etc. from the medical institution you are receiving treatment from
- If you do not send us the second opinion consent form and medical questionnaire in advance
- If you have complaints or grievances against the attending physician
- If your purpose for the consultation is because of medical arbitration or pending court cases
- If the content of the consultation is outside the expertise of the interviewing doctor
- If the consultation is for the deceased

What is Consultation Service with Doctors? E-mail Consultation with a doctor
You can use e-mail to directly consult with a doctor. The service is the best fit for patients with seven major lifestyle-related diseases (cancer, stroke, heart attack, hypertension, diabetes, liver cirrhosis, and chronic kidney disease), including three critical diseases like malignant cancer, acute myocardial infarction, and brain stroke, as well as for other diseases and infections, who is bothered and want reassuring explanations from doctors through consultation.
There are no required medical information or materials to be submitted.
You may choose which doctor to consult with. If you are not sure which doctor to choose, our coordinator will be happy to suggest one.
Consultation Service with Doctors Contents

Within one month after you receive the response to your consultation, you can send one reciprocation email to the doctor regarding the contents.

The doctor typically sends a response within a week. However, please understand that responses from the doctor may be delayed.

・Apply for an interview with the application form.
・Please make an appointment at least two weeks in advance of your desired date of interview.
This timeframe is necessary to process document submissions.

Confirming the interview date2.
・After confirming the details of your application, we will arrange a date and time for an interview with the doctor, and then contact you to confirm the interview date and time.
・If you wish to change or cancel your appointment, please contact us by email or phone. This must be done before 5:00 PM, five business days prior to the appointment date (not including weekends and holidays). Please understand we cannot accept any changes or cancellations made after this date.

Use the URL/link provided in the application completion email OR the confirmation email of the appointment date at least 5 minutes before the start of the interview.
At the appointment time, please open the online interview screen. The interview will start at the designated time.
About the software used for the interview
On the day of the interview, we will use "ZOOM" for the service.
Please install the application beforehand.
The video interview will be through either smartphone or PC with a webcam, speaker/headset, and microphone. Depending on the type of device you are using and the version of the operating system and browser, you may experience technical difficulties. If necessary, we may test the software at least one hour before the interview to make sure all devices work properly.

Response from the doctor4.
・After payment received, the doctor will reply to your consultation within 7 to 10 business days. If there is a delay in the doctor’s response, we will inform you of the delay.

The reservation and cancellation fee will be 30%-100% of the above interview fee depending on the cancellation date.
If you contact us by 5:00PM, 5 business days before the reservation date, no cancellation fee will be charged. Please note that the reservation fee of 11,000¥ (tax included) will not be refunded after payment.
In the case of rebooking after cancellation, the reservation fee will be free only if the rebooking is made within one month from the last cancellation date
(Example: If the cancellation occurs on 01/01, you can rebook an appointment on any date up to 01/30.
The scheduled online interview date can be after February.)
For cancellation procedures, please contact us within our business hours by phone or email. If the business hours have passed, it will be calculated as the next business date.
Please note that the cancellation fee will be 100% if you do not participate in the interview or if you do not contact us on the day of the interview.
If a refund is required due to changes or cancellations, the customer will pay the wire transfer fee and the amount will be deducted from the total refunded.
Holidays are not counted as business dates.
